1) Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using SeattleOnly (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2) Who May Use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information and for maintaining the security of your account.
3) Community Standards (Be Neighborly)
SeattleOnly exists to connect neighbors and support local Seattle businesses. Keep discussions civil, helpful, and on-topic. You agree not to post or engage in:
- Harassment, threats, bullying, or doxxing.
- Hate speech, slurs, or content attacking a protected class.
- Illegal activity, incitement, or dangerous behavior.
- Pornographic, sexually explicit, or excessively violent content.
- Misinformation that could cause harm (safety, medical, emergency).
- Spam, affiliate-link farming, mass promotions, or repetitive self-promotion.
- Off-topic political campaigning, partisan advocacy, or electioneering. (Political debates are not allowed on SeattleOnly to keep the community constructive and welcoming.)
- Commercial postings outside designated areas or beyond reasonable frequency.
Keep it polite, factual, and neighborly.
4) Content You Post
You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant SeattleOnly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. You represent that you have the rights to post what you share and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
5) Business Pages & Fees
SeattleOnly hosts free local business pages for Seattle-area businesses. We may release or update business features over time. Certain advanced features may require a small monthly fee, and we may offer optional monthly advertising for a small fee to help cover operating costs. Ads will not appear inside neighborhood feeds. Pricing and features may change with notice posted on the site.
6) Promotions, Spam, and Rate Limits
Reasonable business introductions and updates are welcome in designated areas. Spamming threads or posting excessive promotions may result in removal of posts/pages and account restrictions or termination.
7) Moderation & Enforcement
Moderators can remove any content or account at our sole discretion and without prior notice, including for violations of these Terms or community standards. Repeated or serious violations may result in a permanent ban. We may also apply temporary limits, hide content, or restrict features to keep the site useful and safe for neighbors.
8) Reporting
If you see a concern, report it in-product (where available) or email with links and context. We appreciate your help keeping SeattleOnly constructive.
9) Third-Party Links & Services
SeattleOnly may include links to third-party sites or services. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.
10) Service Changes
We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We will try to minimize disruption, but availability and uptime are not guaranteed.
11) Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” SeattleOnly and its owners, employees, and moderators disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Community content reflects the views of users, not SeattleOnly.
12) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeattleOnly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or reputation, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
13) Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SeattleOnly and its affiliates, officers, employees, and moderators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.
14) Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including violations of these Terms. Upon termination, Sections 4–13 survive.
15) Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflicts of laws principles. Exclusive venue lies in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
16) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” will reflect the latest version. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
17) Contact
Be kind. Be helpful. Keep Seattle neighborly.
